Chile's once best kept secret

“Pisco flows through the veins of Chile.”

“World famous for its exquisite wines, wealth of stunning landscapes, and clearest of night skies, Chile also lays claim to the production of some of the world’s best Pisco. This delicious spirit is made from grapes at the foot of the Atacama desert and Coquimbo in Northern Chile.

For over 500 years Pisco has been the Chileans’ spirit of choice, but now bartenders around the world have discovered and embraced this hugely versatile and expertly made spirit. Pisco is no longer Chile’s secret!

Pisco is a natural flavour translation for gin lovers. Pisco provides delicate botanical flavours with an added burst of fruit and gentle spice. Most commonly enjoyed in Chile sipped neat over ice, mixed with tonic, or shaken into a Pisco Sour. So next time you fancy a G&T, reach for a bottle of Pisco instead as the Chileans do.”

Waqar is the careful process in which innovation and 5 generations of family tradition are combined. Situated in Tulahuén at the foothill of the Andes Mountains, using only handpicked Muscat grapes, the family use modern technology combined with small batch craft distillation to produce Waqar – undoubtedly one of the best spirit exports from Chile. One sip of Waqar and you will experience an elegance of white flowers, fresh peaches & apricots on the nose, with a smooth delicate finish in the mouth.

KAPPA_PISCO_750ml.jpg

Kappa embodies the long history of luxury drinks in the Marnier Lapostolle family, blended together with the magic and mysticism of the Elqui Valley in Chile. The 180 years of expertise is evident throughout every step of the Kappa production process. The Pink Muscat and the Muscat of Alexandria grapes are from the sun drenched Elqui Valley in the north of Chile - a blend of majestic desert mountains and fertile valleys. Kappa derives its name from Kappa Crucis, one of the most beautiful celestial bodies in the universe.

El Gobernador is produced with reassuring attention and care from Juan Torres Master Distillers. Nestled between the Pacific and the Andes, it’s a clear and brilliant Pisco from the heart of the Limari valley. Created through an equal marriage of Rosé Muscatel and Muscat of Alexandria grapes, it boasts a delicate floral scent with notes of rose and jasmine, candied citrus peels which gives way to  stone fruit and pear. El Gobernador encapsulates the spirit of adventure of Northern Chile with a bottle made in homage of the first Chilean Governor of Ovalle: Filipe Margutt Donaire.”

Capel is the most neutral of the four piscos, with low intensity flavours & aromas and slight notes of citrus (lemon & lime) in the nose and palate. This is the only tridistilled among these piscos and is made from a blend between Muscat and  Pedro Ximenes, which explains its lower intensity, elegance, and smoothness that quickly cleans the palate if tasted on its own. Delicious in a Pisco & tonic.
